Sebastião Salgado, the Brazilian photojournalist, has been traveling to remote, sparsely populated jungle and desert locations for his ecological work in progress “Genesis.”

I remember coming across the work of Salgado on the cover of Hearts of Darkness by Joseph Conrad many moons ago.  I was working for an Investment Bank at the time and I later learned that Salgado was previously an economist for the World Bank before he switched to photography in 1973.
