Nadav Kander – Obama’s People

Saturday, January 17th, 2009

First Post of the New Year and what better way than to start with Nadav Kander, who In my opinion is the most talented and ‘versatile’ photographer working today.  From Landscapes to Portraits to Advertising Work , the man can do no wrong and brings his inimitable style to everything he shoots.

Here’s his new work photographing ‘Obamas People‘ for the NY times.

A spoof of the shoot from the very inspiring blog www.aphotoeditor.com here.

Thailand Photographer,Richard Daniels selected for Best Of Show International Photography Awards

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

A few months ago, after dislocating my knee and being more or less (camp) bed-ridden at my parents , i was feeling a bit sorry for myself. I was surfing ,laying in bed in a leg brace and came across the International Photographer Awards website, the deadline had been extended to that night. A quick bit of photoshop wizardry and i submitted a project that i had been working on of electricity cables, taken in Bangkok.

Fast forward to this month ………..

It is an absolute honour to have been picked by Bill Hunt of the prestigious Hasted Hunt Gallery for this years Best Of Show. Not only that but to be in the same gallery show as 2 of my favourite photographers Nadav Kander and Julia Fullerton-Batten is a dream come true.

The Show debuts at the Splashlight Studio in SOHO New York this October before travelling to 8 cities internationally.

I’ve got my plane tickets already :)

To check out the Electricity Cables photography project visit my website at www.richarddaniels.com and go to the project page.

This news has given me a lot of inspiration as a photographer and the confidence to do edgier and better work. I hope I can make the cut again next year :)
